Chemical Process Administrator – Smith & Wesson
West Springfield, MA
• Full‑time • $19‑27.00 /hr
- Receipt, storage, and delivery of all chemicals used throughout the facility.
- Maintain chemical inventory and labeling.
- Assist with waste management and compliance with EHS directives.
- Receive chemical deliveries and organize warehouse supplies.
- Maintain inventory levels in the warehouse and upgrade inventory tracking systems.
- Dispense the same chemicals to consolidate and manage floor space efficiently.
- Deliver over 150 chemicals to all areas of the facility as needed.
- Maintain all chemical satellite storage locations to ensure availability of chemicals at all times.
- Monitor all storage equipment, reporting malfunctions.
- Assist with chemical labeling of all primary, secondary, and point‑of‑use containers.
- Help procure new chemicals for added processes.
- Oversee regulation waste accumulation areas including labeling & housekeeping.
- Label, stage, and load waste as needed.
- Assist with spill response, including delivery of cleanup materials.
- Support compliance with all regulatory obligations and facility operations.
- Undergo EHS trainings and maintain certifications (RCRA, DOT Shipper, HAZWOPER, etc.).
- All other tasks as directed by management.
- Experience:
working knowledge of eMaint, SAP management systems, and Winshuttle. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Competent forklift operator with proper certifications.
- Ability to manage and organize a warehouse/work area with minimal supervision.
- Preferred knowledge of chemical safety and properties.
- Preferred experience in facilities/maintenance.
- Strategic planning and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to complete projects promptly.
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Frequent: bending, kneeling, squatting, standing, walking, reaching, overhead reaching, and fine motor tasks.
- Maximum lifting: up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent lifting: 5 to 20 pounds.
- Occasional lifting: 30 to 50 pounds.
- All employees must apply ergonomic correctness to all tasks.
- Warehouse, shop floor environment exposed to outside elements.
- Personal protective equipment required, including gloves, safety glasses (ANSI approved), hearing protection, and safety shoes.
- Exposure to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting.
