The Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane serves communities across Queensland, supporting 98 parishes, 146 schools, and various outreach services that care for vulnerable individuals and families. Our Springfield Parish is led by Fr Nev Yun (Parish Priest) and a dedicated team that supports our parish vision and mission.
About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and faith-filled Evangelisation & Pastoral Associate to play a key leadership role in the growth and development of discipleship within our parish community. This role will work closely with the Parish Priest, Parish Leadership Team, and ministry coordinators to lead evangelisation initiatives, pastoral care programs, and liturgical coordination. The successful candidate will be instrumental in nurturing the faith of parishioners, developing outreach programs, and supporting sacramental and discipleship pathways to help individuals grow in their relationship with Christ.
Key Responsibilities Evangelisation & Faith Formation- Assist in developing and implementing the Parish pastoral strategy to foster spiritual growth and missionary discipleship.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate new and existing ministries such as Alpha, Life Groups, and Discipleship Programs.
- Support faith formation programs for parishioners at different stages of their journey.
- Provide facilitation and support for sacramental preparation, Baptism, RCIA, and Encounter Youth programs.
- Work with the Parish Priest, Leadership Team, and volunteers to provide pastoral care and community outreach.
- Develop programs and events to engage new and existing parishioners in faith-building experiences.
- Support individuals and families in times of need, bereavement, or difficulty.
- Chair the Liturgy Committee and oversee the scheduling and organisation of liturgical ministries.
- Lead and assist in the preparation and coordination of liturgical celebrations throughout the year.
- Ensure liturgical ministers, including readers, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, altar servers, and sacristans are trained and supported.
- Work with clergy, musicians, and ministry teams to enhance the worship experience.
The ideal candidate will be a leader, passionate about discipleship and evangelisation, with a deep understanding of parish life and Catholic teachings.
You have- Experience in pastoral ministry, faith formation, or evangelisation programs.
- Appropriate training / education in one or more areas of theology, spirituality, religious education or pastoral formation would be highly regarded.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Organisational and administrative skills to manage multiple programs effectively.
- A current Paid Blue Card and Police Check (or willingness to obtain both)
