Qualifications:
● Current and unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts
● Current BLS CPR certification
● Minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in ER or outpatient triage setting.
Required Skills:
Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with a solid understanding of disease processes and age-specific development.
Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality nursing care in collaboration with physicians and support staff.
Culturally sensitive, with a strong interest in serving diverse patient populations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, individuals seeking assistance, representatives of outside agencies, and the general public.
Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiar with outpatient and ambulatory care best practices.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Flexible, professional, and reliable, with the ability to adapt to varying patient needs
Committed to patient-centered care, customer service, and ongoing professional growth
Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Russian, or Vietnamese).
Principal
Responsibilities and Duties:
Receives and responds to both telephone and in-person triage requests from patients. Conducts nursing assessments, exercises clinical judgment, answers health-related questions, provides patient education, and offers guidance following established clinical protocols and guidelines.
Documents telephone triage, patient education, and patient instruction accurately and precisely within the electronic medical record.
Schedules same-day and follow-up appointments with providers to support timely and coordinated patient care.
Provides ongoing patient education, clinical assessment, and support to patients while working closely with medical providers to deliver coordinated, high-quality nursing care.
Performs nurse visits as needed, providing clinical assessments, patient education, and nursing interventions following established protocols.
Administers prescribed medications, vaccines, and treatments following approved clinical protocols and standards of nursing practice. Ensures accurate and timely documentation of all administrations in the electronic medical record.
Serves as a resource for staff, offering clinical guidance, nursing support, and educational
opportunities as appropriate to promote staff development and quality patient care.
Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
● This position involves prolonged use of a telephone and extended periods of computer-based work at a workstation.
● It requires the ability to sit for long durations, with occasional standing and walking
● May be required to lift and carry objects typically weighing between 5–20 pounds.
