This part‑time position is a rotating shift and is located at Mercy Medical Center, part of the nationwide Trinity Health family.
Position PurposeSupervises and trains all assigned food service employees. Oversees various food service functions (patient feeding, cafeteria, special functions, etc.). Assures staff adherence to all department policies and procedures. Maintains logs and completes reports related to areas of responsibility.
What You Will Do- Supervise assigned food service employees on a daily basis.
- Collaborate with the department head in all HR‑related management duties including recruitment, selection, training, coaching, and disciplining of assigned personnel as required.
- Complete employee evaluations.
- Prepare employee work schedules and cover for absences.
- In coordination with other food service management, be responsible for all food service employees in the absence of the Department Head.
- Assure that all required safety, sanitation, and safe food handling procedures are followed.
- Assume the checker position on the patient tray line.
- Maintain all required information logs including refrigerator and dish‑pan machine temperatures, food temperatures, sanitizer test strips, and sanitation inspection reports.
- Assist in purchasing food and non‑food items for the Dietary/Nutrition Department.
- Perform diet office functions, including updating and maintaining diet orders, managing patient food preferences, updating food allergy information, supplement orders, and admissions and discharges.
- Prepare patient menus and nourishment labels to meet the patient’s diet order, food allergy restrictions, and preferences.
- Prepare the production report for the next day.
- Work in a normal environment with relatively few physical discomforts; some lifting required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Serv Safe certification required.
- One to three years of food service supervisory experience; ability to supervise personnel and maintain operation organization and workflow.
- Ability to perform scheduling, training, recordkeeping, and ensure adherence to department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy including food allergies.
- Apply theory into practice and think critically to solve problems.

$21.35 – $32.05 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
