Position PurposeThe Security Officer performs general security work in the protection of person, property, and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations of the department, hospital, and any applicable federal, state, or local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.
What You Will Do- Provide for the safety and security of all persons and property for patients, visitors, and colleagues on the hospital campus.
- Assist staff and others with argumentative, belligerent, and combative individuals, especially where there is imminent danger to staff, physicians, patients, and/or visitors. If circumstances dictate, potentially participate as a member of a Restraint Team as directed by a member of the medical or nursing staff.
- Patrol assigned areas of the facilities and grounds on foot or car according to an established schedule and investigate unusual occurrences. Report incidents or apparent damage or loss of patient, visitor, or hospital property through fire, theft, vandalism, or other unusual occurrences.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- All state‑specific licensing requirements, including permanent guard cards.
- Six (6) months or more of private security, law enforcement, or relevant military experience preferred.
- Knowledge of PC‑based applications in a Windows environment.
- Excellent customer‑service skills. Ability to think and act quickly in crisis situations.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred). Must be 21 years of age to operate hospital vehicles.
- Set and organize own work priorities and adapt to changes frequently. Work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
- Comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
- Lift 11‑24 lbs., carry 11‑24 lbs., push/pull 35‑40 lbs. Stand or walk for long periods of time. Perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, and reaching overhead. Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally.
- Rotate and work long irregular shifts may be required.
- Physically assist in restraining psychiatric patients during crisis intervention. Cognizant of increased risk of injury due to physical confrontation.

$17.00 – $22.90 per hour.
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary within the stated range based on location.
