An Assistant Controller position in Springfield, MO is available through Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions. Our client, a global manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join their growing finance team. This is a critical role supporting the Controller across all facets of financial close, reporting, analysis, and team leadership. If you're an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment and has a strong understanding of GAAP, Quick Books, and ERP systems, we want to hear from you.

This is an onsite position with some flexibility after initial training. The company offers a strong compensation and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for multiple entities
• Handle expense accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany reconciliations
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support consolidated financial statements
• Validate revenue recognition timing with cross-functional teams
• Maintain revenue schedules and deferred revenue balances
• Review service jobs and customer prepayments for accurate reporting
• Oversee day-to-day accounting including AP, credit cards, payroll, and VAT compliance for global entities
• Maintain internal control documentation and audit trails
• Generate weekly/monthly reports including sales, cash collections, A/R aging, and inventory
• Support department P&Ls, budgeting, forecasting, and business reviews
• Supervise and support 2–3 accounting team members in AR and AP
• Delegate tasks, give performance feedback, and foster a collaborative culture
• Identify and implement accounting process improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA or CMA preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Experience with multi-entity and international accounting preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Quick Books and ERP experience require
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
• High level of integrity and professionalism
