This is a part‑time position, approximately 24 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work budgeted hours during open hours of the library:
Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am‑9:00 pm;
Friday, 8:30 am‑8:00 pm;
Saturday, 8:30 am‑7:00 pm;
Sunday, 10:00 am‑6:00 pm. Current schedule needs include an 8‑hour shift on Saturday and evenings throughout the week. Work schedules may change as necessary to best provide user services and to meet the Library's responsibility to the citizens of Greene County.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, or currently enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program such as a GED or current enrollment in high school or a high school equivalent program. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Proof of United States Citizenship/Authorization to Work in the United States is required.

Position SummaryThe Circulation Assistant plays a key role in supporting the operations of the circulation desk and ensuring the smooth borrowing and returning of library materials. Responsibilities include checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, and assisting patrons with account inquiries. The assistant may also help to shelve materials and manage holds and reserves. Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in library systems and procedures are essential for success in this role.
EssentialFunctions
- Greets patrons and assists with directional information
- Routinely checks-in, checks-out and renews library materials
- Registers patrons for library cards and other library functions
- Collects fines and other fees, makes change, and issues receipts
- Answers and directs telephone calls
- Performs light copy machine maintenance
