Health Plan Specialist-MO

Equity is partnering with a leading regional health insurance organization to hire Remote Health Plan Specialists!

This is a 100% inbound call center role where you'll assist members with benefits, billing, enrollment, and other health plan questions while providing compassionate, accurate, and timely support.

• $21/hour
• Paid virtual training
• Monday-Friday schedule (No weekends!)
• Potential for
  extension or permanent employment
  after the initial contract

As a Health Plan Specialist, you'll serve as the first point of contact for members by providing exceptional service over the phone.

Responsibilities include:

• Answering approximately
  50–70 inbound calls per day
  during Open Enrollment
• Assisting members with questions regarding health benefits, billing, enrollment, and coverage
• Researching and resolving complex member issues from start to finish
• Documenting all customer interactions accurately within multiple systems
• Navigating several applications simultaneously while providing efficient service
• Collaborating with internal departments to resolve member concerns
• Delivering every interaction with professionalism, empathy, and a member-first mindset

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)
• Minimum 2 years of call center experience
• Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems at once
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Customer service experience within health insurance or healthcare
• Experience explaining benefits, billing, or enrollment information
• Experience working in a high-volume inbound call center
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and multi-screen workstations
• Positive attitude with a passion for helping others

• Monday-Friday
• Must be available to work
  any shift between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM CST
• No Saturdays
• Virtual training:
  • 4 weeks
    of instructor-led training (8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST)
  • Followed by2 weeks of on-the-job training

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A dedicated, professional workspace free from distractions
• Ability to be on camera during all training sessions and meetings
• Hard-wired internet connection using an Ethernet cable (Wi‑Fi, hotspots, and satellite internet are not permitted)
• Ability to use company-provided equipment, including dual monitors and a headset
• Internet speed test results are required during the application process
