Pay: $826 - $2,715 based on student enrollment per course (see Learning Academies)

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Springfield, Missouri Public School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for Launch is a purpose-driven virtual course access program designed to serve Missouri students. Launch is based in Springfield Public Schools and partners with school districts statewide to offer students access to Launch virtual courses.

This position will deliver and provide support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for developing student success in academics and/or skills; supervising students in online settings; collaborating with teachers, professional staff and administrators to deliver pre-designed curriculum and course work; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress. Launch teachers are expected to be positive promoters of online learning opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Administers subject specific assignments for assessment of student competency levels.
  • Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for communication of expectations and achievements and developing improvement methods.
  • Analyzes performance data for enhancing student achievement.
  • Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for regular, high‑quality feedback to students, parents, and administration.
  • Collaborates with Launch Online Staff, curriculum facilitators, other school personnel, and parents for improving overall quality of student outcomes and achieving major instructional goals.
  • Demonstrates methods required to perform classroom and/or subject assignments for effective education addressing individual student learning.
  • Facilitates student learning (creating a learning environment, integrating technology, encouraging collaboration) in pre‑designed courses for success in academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills through pre‑determined outcomes.
  • Maintains confidential and non‑confidential files and records (grades, test scores, attendance, anecdotal records, lesson plans) for up‑to‑date information and documentation of student progress.
  • Monitors students and manages student behavior in an online environment for a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Participates in trainings and meetings to convey or gather required information.
  • Reports health and safety issues to administrative personnel and agencies to maintain safety and compliance with guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a job‑related area, required.
  • Job‑related experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Other

Special Requirements
  • Missouri 5‑9 Teaching Certificate, required.
  • Ability to gain and maintain "Highly Qualified" status as defined by Missouri's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, required.
  • Background clearance satisfactory to the District, required.
  • Must have consistent access to high‑speed internet and be able to provide your own device.
  • Must reside in the State of Missouri. Exceptions may exist for teachers employed with Missouri Launch partner districts.
