We are representing a leading regional high-tech distributor looking for the next generation of Application Solutions Engineers to join their team. This role is a hybrid career path that combines the technical problem‑solving skills of an engineer with the relationship‑building and dynamic environment of technical sales.
If you have an engineering background but crave autonomy, customer interaction, and seeing your technical solutions come to life in the real world, this is the role for you.
What You Will Do:- Consult with customers to identify their pain points and recommend the right automation solutions (PLCs, HMI, SCADA, Motion Control)
- Prepare and deliver technical demonstrations to show how the solutions fit specific application needs
- Develop new accounts and maintain existing relationships through networking and vendor coordination
- Travel to client sites via a company-provided vehicle to offer hands‑on support and consultation
- Master new technologies and industrial applications, our client invests heavily in technical training
- We don't expect you to know everything on Day 1. We are looking for engineering fundamentals and the right personality
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field
- You must understand engineering design concepts but also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- You are able to manage your own schedule, organize your materials and perform quality work without being micro‑managed
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, industrial communications, or precision motion is a plus (but specific product training is provided)
- A company car is provided (gas and insurance covered)
- Strong base salary plus a bonus package
