Tax Accountant
Financial Guides provide professional greeting services to prepare them to meet with the Tax Preparers at VITA Clinics. Year‑round tax preparation is offered with most clinics occurring between February 1st, and April 15th. An ability to assist our tax clients with dignity and respect is required. Financial Guides are trained by CPO and must be certified through the IRS for Advanced Tax Preparation through open‑book certification exams found on Link and Learn.
(). Volunteer Financial Guides must commit to a minimum of five hours per week and for a minimum of one month during the tax season (February 1st – April 15th). All tax clinics are under the operation of a trained Site‑Coordinator who will review returns to check for errors before submission.

Duties and Responsibilities:- Attend Training
- Obtain Certification
- Travel to tax clinics in Springfield, Missouri
- Greet clients and assess applicable paperwork and documentation for tax situation
- Obtain necessary signatures
Skills:
- Ability to serve all clients with dignity and professionalism
- IRS Certification for Advanced Tax Preparation (CPO will provide training and materials)
- 20 hours (minimum) per year
- Transportation to and from trainings and tax clinics Position Clarification:
