Federal Police Officer (Uniformed Division) $50,000 Recruitment Incentive

The U.S. Secret Service is seeking highly qualified individuals to join the Uniformed Division as Police Officers. The Base pay range for this position is $75,134.00/yr - $/yr.

NOTE:
This position must be performed in Washington, DC, and relocation will be required.
A $50,000 recruitment incentive may be available for eligible applicants.

Uniformed Division Officers are courageous, intelligent, strong, and determined. They carry out assignments in protection and enforcement, including:

  • Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
  • Traveling in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
  • Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • A current valid U.S. driver's license is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 20 years old and less than 37 years old, unless they have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position.
  • The ability to carry and use a firearm is mandatory, as well as maintaining firearm proficiency.
  • Applicants must meet specific visual and hearing requirements.
  • A drug test is required prior to appointment, and random drug testing may be conducted while occupying the position.
  • Completion of 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center is required.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with the Selective Service System or be exempt.

This is an entry-level, full-time position in the field of Law Enforcement.
