Day to Day:
A rapidly growing drywall and renovation company is looking for an HR Coordinator to play a vital role in the growth of their culture, consistency, and processes. The 70 employee team of Office Management, Operations, and Construction has been growing 3x year over year. This person will be an individual contributor and work with support from the Office Manager and COO to contribute meaningful solutions as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities include 30% payroll administration, 30% onboarding/admin duties, 10% benefits, 10% employee relations, 10% OSHA standard compliance, and 10% safety coordination, including policy, logs, certification records, coordination of site safety meetings, and corrective actions. The first initial project will start with revamping the employee handbook to reflect current laws and best practices, and will also include policy development.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of HR experience with a small to mid-sized construction or renovation company, preferably who has helped grow a team, and have experience with OSHA compliance and safety "toolbox talks". Additionally, we are looking for a people person who is self-motivated, can stay focused while working independently (this position will not be micromanaged), and cares deeply about company culture.
This position has an immense opportunity for growth as the company continues to grow 2-3x year after year. You will be coming in at an integral time to make tangible changes with company policies. This is a long term position, set up as a contract to hire (starting as an hourly employee, before transitioning to salaried). Benefits start day 1 and include Medical, Dental, and Vision, and 401K after 90 days.
Required Skills and Experience
- 2+ years' experience in a construction related industry
- 3-5+ years' HR experience (employee relation/conflict resolution, policy creation, trainings, performance management)
- Experience with job site safety procedures, training logs, certification records, and corrective actions
- Experience with payroll, Quick Books preferred
- Team player, self-motivated, independent, people person, organized
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
- OSHA certification
- Experience with federal, state, and local law compliance
