POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate General Counsel will join the legal team and will report directly to the Senior Associate General Counsel. You will serve as the primary legal advisor on data privacy, cybersecurity, and technology matters across all business operations. The position will require specialized legal counseling on privacy compliance, technology transactions, and regulatory matters while supporting broader corporate legal initiatives. This position will be based in Springfield, Missouri.
DUTIESгиз& RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide proactive, practical, and timely day-to-day advice to internal business partners across all areas of Bass Pro and its affiliates’ businesses on a wide variety of legal issues, including state, federal, and international data privacy laws.
- Review and draft privacy policies, data governance frameworks, and procedures to drive compliance with state, federal, and international privacy laws.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in data privacy and cybersecurity; proactively identify and assess privacy risks and opportunities; advise internal business partners regarding same.
- Draft and negotiate technology agreements, including software licensing, SaaS agreementsexist, data processing agreements, vendor contracts, and other technology transactions.
- Assist in developing, preparing, and providing training to internal business partners on various legal topics.
- Represent the company in privacy-related administrative matters and regulatory inquiries.
- Supervise and manage outside counsel on privacy litigation and regulatory matters.
- Support the existing legal team with daily work and strategic privacy initiatives.
- J.D. from ABA accredited law school.
- Admitted and member in good standing in at least one state bar and ability to become licensed as in‑house counsel in Missouri.
- Five to eight years’ legal experience practicing in a law firm or in‑house legal department.
-Javadoc Experience with gere retail, hospitality, and/or manufacturing industries preferred. - Demonstrated expertise in data privacy laws including GDPR, CCPA/CPRAENDAR, HIPAA, and state privacy statutes.
- Experience with technology contracting,usp, including software licensing and vendor agreements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent legal analysis, reasoning, and writing skills, including the ability to quickly integrate and synthesize facts and law to make legally sound decisions in compressed time frames.
- Deep understanding of privacy and cybersecurity frameworks and ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple time‑sensitive issues involving business partners in various locations.
- Ability to provide direct and timely advice and counseling to business clients at various levels of the organization.
- Ability to think strategically and evaluate potential risks to the company, including economic, legal, and reputational.
- Self‑motivpresas and able to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; team player who is flexible and adaptable.
- 5% – Limited travel when necessary.

Develops strategic direction, goals, plans and policies for privacy and technology legal matters. Sets broad goals and is accountable for overall results in privacy compliance. Authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance. Requires high degree of independent judgment and problem solving of complex privacy and technology issues.
