Position SummaryThe Customization Supervisor leads and develops a team of approximately 10 customization operators, overseeing daily embroidery and engraving operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on‑time delivery. This role is responsible for workforce planning, coaching, performance management, and continuous process improvement while fostering a positive, high‑accountability work environment. This position will require the candidate to be on site at the Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin Distribution Center.
EssentialFunctions
- People Leadership
- Provides regular performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action as needed.
- Supports hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Provides continued upskilling and training to existing team members.
- Builds a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Monitors day‑to‑day operations in facility, including work volume and makes appropriate adjustments in real time to ensure orders are delivered by the marked in‑hands dates.
- Learn or utilize multiple digital operations interfaces for customization, including but not limited to:
Wilcom, Corel Draw, Ruby, Adobe Illustrator. - Partners cross‑functionally with multiple business units including (but not limited to):
- IT to ensure all machines have appropriate software updates and troubleshoot machines when down.
- Operations to provide feedback and information on customization options on items.
- Provides ongoing recommendations to process improvement within the facility and in regard to customization processes.
- Maintains a positive attitude and work environment.
- Completes all necessary paperwork and accurately reports productivity metrics to leadership as requested.
- Ensures good housekeeping within facility, including all regularly scheduled machine maintenance.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Degree
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent - Preferred Degree:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts or related technical field - Experience:
- Leading teams in a production type environment, specifically with responsibilities for coaching and continuous performance improvement.
- Preferred:
Experience in customization facilities, especially in regard to embroidery, engraving, and color print capacities.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to coach and guide team members through processes and encourage growth.
- Ability to work both independently and in unison with other team members to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to coordinate cross‑functionally with team members in other business units.
- Ability to analyze and interpret change in industry standards.
- Ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
- Motivated, result oriented self‑starter that demonstrates personal initiative and ownership.
- Up to 10% of travel nationally.
- Work involves frequent exposure to unpleasant elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, chemicals, etc.
- Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day‑to‑day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor.
