Senior Production Scheduler

Position Profile

Develops and produces daily production schedules that meet weekly and monthly requirements for finished goods availability. Collects and compiles data from Process Pro (ERP system) to develop production schedules that are reasonable and efficient. Identifies and reports variances between units scheduled for production and units expected for forecast and open orders.

• Develops and produces daily production schedules. Pulls finished and blended goods forecasts, current inventories, and current customer orders to evaluate expected demand for finished and blended goods for weekly and monthly periods. Develops daily production schedules that will meet the weekly and monthly expected demand.
• Builds production schedules to maximize production efficiencies. Understands variables, such as product sequencing and production run times, that impact production efficiencies. Incorporates these variables into the development of production schedules to build schedules that will positively impact productivity and line efficiencies.
• Identifies and reports variances between units scheduled for production and units expected for forecast and open orders. Reviews production schedule by day and by week and identifies shortfalls in the schedule due to insufficient production time or unavailable ingredients, materials, or supplies.
• Cross Training and Adaptability is paramount to the success of the incumbent in this position. Learning and understanding Operations Administration and Inventory Control will be expected.
• Assimilates data and information to formulate schedules. Understands the multiple variables that impact scheduling efficiencies and evaluates those variables on an on-going basis to improve productivity. Identifies patterns and opportunities to improve scheduling inputs, processes, and outputs. Collects data from ERP and other sources, and consolidates that data using Excel worksheets to build daily production schedules.

• Reports to Materials Manager

• High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2 years of work experience as a production scheduler, preferably in a food manufacturing environment, strong planning, analytical, and communication skills with experience in ERP/MRP software systems.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data visualization tools. Demonstrated work experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
