GENERAL LABORER

WAGE $19.50 – $21.85

DEPARTMENT: PROCESS CHEESE – LEGACY

Overview of the role and responsibilities as listed in the job description.

• Days and shift times vary.
• Maintain quality standards by checking seals, codes, labels, packaging, weights, odor, color, and temperature of product.
• Properly insert components in cartons, record weights, and accurately record data.
• Ensure proper supplies are used on the line.
• Stack at end of line on skid; require constant reaching, bending, and twisting.
• Operate packing or filling equipment.
• Recordkeeping as required on manual, computer, and other systems.
• Maintain housekeeping and Kraft quality standards in the work area.
• General housekeeping duties include sweeping, picking up trash, lifting trash bags, and handling cheese bags.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform sanitation and maintenance-type functions as needed.
• Check product and fill out quality documentation.
• Peel out and salvage rejected product.
• Follow GMPs outlined in handbook volume #3.0102.
• Work collaboratively with others on the line – teamwork.
• Work on either production or sanitation jobs.
• Work on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors, grinding room, coolers, production areas, and SCOF areas.
• Perform sanitation duties when required.
• Be an active participant in Safety and Productivity Improvement Teams.
• Perform other duties as directed by Line Leader and Shift Leader.
• Maintain equipment using the KHMS system and settings.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as change-overs, set-ups, pit stops, minor maintenance and adjustments, lubrication, etc.
• Complete training on upgrade and relief positions within the Process Cheese department.
• Accountable for Safety, Health and Environmental systems and operational standards per applicable policies/procedures.
• Understand and apply KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System) practices such as 5S, centerline management, shift hand-offs, operational standard ownership/support, and problem solving.

• Knowledge:
  Basic math, reading and communication.
• Working Environment:
  Primarily indoors with temperatures from the low 40s to the high 90s. May be in hot/humid or cool environments depending on task. May be exposed to wet conditions during sanitation. Will be required to work from vertilifts, ladders, and platforms.

• Able to acquire Fork Truck License.

• Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, and reaching to ground level and overhead.
• Lifts, carries, pushes, pulls, lifts and grips objects; climbs stairs.
• Routinely pulls and moves up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to operate, disassemble and reassemble equipment.
• Must be able to stand while inserting components.
• Must be able to perform sustained activity jobs.
