Position Summary
The Technician II performs all the duties of the Technician I with more advanced knowledge/experience, including diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment. Responsibilities include mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs. The technician uses diagnostic tools to detect faults in electronics, hydraulics, power train engines, and overall machine performance, occasionally operating machines for assessment. They also disassemble and assemble machine components according to manufacturer specifications using hand and pneumatic tools.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Essential Job Functions
- Diagnose construction equipment repair needs and perform repairs on customer or company-owned machines as directed
- Perform mechanical skills including troubleshooting in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Detect faults using diagnostic tools, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems; occasionally operate machines for assessment
- Disassemble and assemble machine components per manufacturer’s specifications using hand and pneumatic tools
- Use basic welding equipment as needed; read and interpret manuals and work orders; research repair needs and order parts
- Load or unload equipment or components from vehicles
- Maintain good attendance and work overtime as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two to five years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment, preferably Genie
- Experience with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting all machine systems
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and stay organized
- Good problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, and communication skills; ability to read schematics; self-motivated
- Forklift experience

Work Environment
Exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and temperature variations typical of manufacturing environments. Long periods of standing, handling oils and grease, and working with heavy equipment are expected.
Physical Demands
Regular walking, standing, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work involves safety risks from equipment and physical labor in a manufacturing setting.
