Position Summary
The Development Associate is a professional staff member of Isabel's House, Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks. This position is responsible for the administrative oversight of development operations including maintaining the donor database, managing donor relations, managing giving programs, and supporting the planning and implementation of all fundraising activities. This position also is responsible, in partnership with the Executive Director, creating and managing content on all social media platforms.
The position is exempt and supervised by the Executive Director. This position is expected to work both independently and collaboratively to coordinate and manage all fundraising operations.
Work Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Regular review and maintenance of donor database, Give Effect, ensuring accuracy and full utilization of program
- Support planning and implementation of all major and minor fundraising and outreach events (banquets, galas, luncheons, community and donor events, other forums as needed)
- Plan for and manage third‑party fundraising program, tax credit programs (in collaboration with the Grants Administrator), and monthly giving program (Hope 365)
- Establish strong relationships with staff, board members, donors, and media contacts to ensure fundraising success
- Provide the Executive Director support in communications with the Associate Board
- Assist in solicitation of monetary and in‑kind support for sponsor ships, auctions, fundraising, and marketing activities through direct contact, email, and social media
- Guide external communications, including the annual report, monthly newsletters, and other print/digital marketing materials
- Maintain social media sites and the organization's website (with the Executive Director)
- Assist in performing regular administrative duties in a timely and efficient manner
- Adhere to professional fundraising ethics of the Association of Fundraising Professionals
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Writing or equivalent is preferred
- Experience in Development is preferred
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong verbal, analytical, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of/experience with database systems is preferred
- Work on a computer for long periods of time (up to four hours)
- Sit or stand for long periods of time (up to four hours)
- Weekend and evening meetings and events required
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
