Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Opportunity – Flexible Scheduling | Beautiful Ozark Mountains | Springfield, MO

Responsibilities

We are a well-established team of4 neonatologists and 5 NNPs. Wehaveamanageable Level III NICU— a place whereyou’llcare fora balanced-mix of patientswithout the high-volume burnout.

NNPfor flexiblecoverageto support a model where the NNP provides replacement coverage for the backup neonatologistin a6to8-hour daytime rounding shift,or12-hour nighttime in-house coverage to relieve the daytime NNP, oran occasional 24-hour shift to provide PTO coverage for an NNP.

Work Schedule (Full-Time):

• 7in-house 24-hourshiftspermonthusing a self-scheduling modelfor maximum flexibility.

• Two neonatologists provide supervision and support daily and share in primary care of critical infants with oneneonatologistproviding backup from home (30 min response time for high-risk deliveries under
  27 weeksor withmajor issues)

• Routine C-sections are attended by charge and procedural nurses

• Routine newborn care is handled by hospital-employed pediatricians

• NICU transport (air and ground) is supervised by the neonatologist with a team oftransport
  
  NICU nurses/RT.Very rarely,an NNP may be requested to go by ground toassistthe team.

• ~450 admits/year with 10% under
  1500 grams

• High-frequency oscillators, jet ventilators,iNO(ECMO and cardiac patients are transferred to in-state Level IV regional NICUs)

• Total body cooling with 24/7 video EEG and pediatric neurology support

• POCUS with bedside ultrasoundavailable

• Donor milk + dedicated milk techpreparation of feedings

• EPICandBaby Steps Cloud EMRs

• Dedicated procedural nurses: delivery attendance, intubation, umbilical and PIC line placement,NICU transport(air and ground)

• NICU-dedicated SLP/PT/OT/RT/pediatric pharmacy 7 days/week

Qualifications

• Current APRN national specialty certification
• Minimum of a master’s degree
