Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring a Missouri or compact RN license and at least 1 year of cardiac tele experience.

Details
  • Work in the Cardiac Med Intermediate unit of a hospital setting
  • 32-bed unit treating cardiac and med-surg patient populations
  • Patient ratios vary: days 1:5-1:6, nights 1:6-1:8
  • Uses Alaris pumps, telemetry monitoring, and lift equipment
  • Documents in EPIC EMR
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
  • Weekend hours required as needed by facility
  • No on-call requirements
  • Rotational floating required
  • Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week
Requirements
  • Active RN license eligible for Missouri licensure or current Missouri RN license
  • BLS certification from AHA required
  • 4 trauma credits required, or must be completed within first two weeks of start
  • NIHSS certification required (may start without but must obtain prior to start)
  • ACLS certification from AHA preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Cardiac Tele experience required
  • Experience and competence in drug titration required
  • Ability to stand and walk for most of shift
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and turn patients with assistance
  • Able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
  • Valid U.S. Social Security Number required for consideration
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
  • Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
  • Maintain professional accountability and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers
  • Work in a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center environment
  • High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids should be expected
  • Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1-April 1, with no declinations accepted
  • Black scrubs required; torn clothing and open-toed shoes are not permitted
  • RTO up to 5 days allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO not approved during the first week
  • Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
  • Local candidates accepted, though bill rate is reduced for those within 50 miles of the facility
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the radius
