Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Main Operating Room position requiring Level 1 or 2 trauma experience and scrub/circulator skills.

• Active RN license eligible for Missouri licensure or current MO/compact license
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience (teaching hospital experience considered)
• Scrub and OR Circulator experience required
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required

• Main OR setting with Main (22 beds), ASC (8 beds), and Ortho (10 beds) units
• Patient population ranges from outpatient to critical care inpatient
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Day shift, 4x10 schedule, 06:30-17:00
• Call required any scheduled day, averaging 5 or less per 8 weeks
• Weekend hours as required by facility
• Floating required as needed by facility
• Uses various OR equipment including DaVinci robotic system
• EPIC EMR
• Assist Vascular Surgeon in OR and Hybrid Imaging suite
• Work alongside a team of nurses and surgical techs on Endo and Open cases
• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes
• Must demonstrate strong communication and clinical expertise in area of responsibility
• Physical demands include standing/walking most of shift, lifting/pushing patients, and pushing/pulling/gripping up to 50 lbs
• Black scrub color required; jeans and unprofessional attire not accepted
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1-April 1, with no declinations accepted
• Highly motivated self-starters are encouraged to apply
• Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted, though local contract restrictions may apply after 3 consecutive 13-week contracts within 50 miles of the facility
