Overview

As a Retail Associate you will create a positive shopping experience. You will greet customers, maintain a clean store, support sales and merchandise presentation, and perform tasks as assigned.

General Purpose

To ensure customers have a pleasant shopping experience, to uphold company processes and safety, and to support overall store performance.

Essential Functions
  • Practice safe behaviors and maintain a safe, clutter‑free sales floor.
  • Greet customers, make eye contact, smile, and assist with merchandise and questions.
  • Provide prompt customer service and resolve issues politely, involving leadership as needed.
  • Represent Ross Inc. with integrity, safeguarding confidential information.
  • Perform regular cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting) and maintain restroom supplies.
  • Handle merchandise: size, recover, merchandize receipts, and follow presentation guidelines.
  • Adhere to Loss Prevention programs and store protection standards.
  • Follow all cash, check, credit, and return procedures with accuracy.
  • Maximize productivity by executing best practices and minimizing workflow steps.

Qualifications and Special Skills
  • Effective communication with customers, associates and leadership.
  • Basic math skills for typical retail calculations.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC).
  • Stand, walk, move up to 100% of working time.
  • Bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, stoop often.
  • Occasionally push, pull, lift more than 25 lb.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders.
  • Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 lb.
