Service & Engagement Team Leader – Target
Join Target to lead a team of passionate guest advocates and front‑of‑store attendants, ensuring exceptional customer experience, store performance, and compliance. The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑moving retail environment.
Responsibilities- Lead and coach a team of hourly members, including interviewing, evaluating, and retaining talent.
- Demonstrate inclusivity, respect diversity and create equitable guest experiences.
- Develop and manage daily/weekly workload to support sales goals and guest engagement.
- Support Target Loyalty Programs and educate guests on benefits.
- Maintain and promote a safety, security and compliance culture, and respond to incidents promptly.
- Provide consistent, meaningful development conversations to support career growth.
- Recognize and celebrate team performance and guest service behaviors.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of promotions, brand launches and store events.
- Recruit, evaluate and onboard new team members, ensuring a guest‑centric team.
- Support pick‑up, drive‑up, and digital guest services, following all applicable laws and policies.
- Work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Address all store emergency and compliance needs, and assist with incident response.
- All other duties as required by business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Preferred: prior retail experience.
- Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks and operate technology such as handheld scanners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; effective use of multiple devices.
- Welcoming, helpful attitude and ability to remain composed in a fast‑paced environment.
- Physical capability to lift up to 44 lbs, climb ladders, and move merchandise.
- Flexible work schedule, reliable attendance, and willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- Access to all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports and information accurately.
- Accurate cash handling and register operation skills.
Pay range: $20.25–$34.45 per hour, based on labor market, education, experience and certifications.
