Apprentice Carpenter

This 4-year apprenticeship program combines full-time on-the-job training with one day per week of classroom instruction at Ozarks Technical College in Springfield, Missouri. Topics include safety, carpentry, concrete work, and plan reading. Prior experience may be considered for credit on a case-by-case basis.

Apprentices work alongside journeymen carpenters at jobs across the 4-state area, gaining invaluable hands‑on experience. Graduates are recognized as Journeyman Carpenters by the U.S. Department of Labor.

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must not have more than a 10% disability
• Must be drug‑free (random drug testing is enforced)
• Must be able to pass a physical capacity exam (lift at least 70 lbs occasionally; 40‑50 lbs frequently) and endure frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling
• Must be able to work outdoors and travel as needed
