The Recon Technician II - Hydraulics will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic systems on Genie equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge of hydraulic components, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.
Position Summary:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems on Genie lifts and related equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and system testing to ensure reliable operation
- Rebuild and replace hydraulic components, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and hoses
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, service manuals, and technical documents
- Use precision tools, diagnostic equipment, and test benches to troubleshoot issues
- Maintain accurate service and repair records in compliance with company standards
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure high-quality reconditioning results
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized work environment
Minimum Qualifications Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- 2+ years of experience working with hydraulic systems (aerial lift or heavy equipment experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of hydraulic theory and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and service manuals
- Proficiency with hand tools, hydraulic testing equipment, and diagnostic software
- Welding and fabrication experience a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure all QMS (Quality Management System) guidelines and regulations are followed
- All employees are required to follow and promote all company and regulatory safety and environmental standards and exhibit safe work practices at all times
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment):
Safety Toe Shoes, Safety Glasses, etc. required at all times in warehouse environment - Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and continuous quality improvement objectives
- Actively participate in and support the principles of Open-Book Management
- Possess a positive attitude and promote a positive work environment
Work Environment:
The performance of this position requires exposure to atmospheric conditions such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures. Working conditions are those of a packaging and distribution warehouse environment – long periods of standing, periodic exposure to seasonal heat and cold, noise, working with oils and grease.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Standing 50%; walking/sitting 50%. The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, or more, is required.
