SMSI Group is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair our facilities, equipment, and systems. This hands-on role is vital to ensuring our shop and office locations operate efficiently and safely. You'll perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks — from general building upkeep to mechanical troubleshooting — supporting our operations team and contributing to SMSI's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings, shop equipment, and systems.
- Complete a wide range of tasks including plumbing, mechanical repair, assembly, painting, and facility upkeep.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on tools, vehicles, and facility systems.
- Perform snow removal, yard work, and other general upkeep duties as required.
- Identify safety hazards and coordinate timely corrective actions.
- Maintain a maintenance schedule in coordination with the Operations Coordinator.
- Travel between office locations as needed to complete maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure organized work areas.
- Perform other duties and special tasks as assigned.
- This position is safety sensitive.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in facility or equipment maintenance.
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, PLC, and building systems.
- OSHA 10 certification is highly preferred.
- Class E driver’s license preferred for use of company vehicles.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to recognize safety concerns and follow safety procedures.
- Proficient in the use of a wide variety of tools and equipment.
- Strong organizational and record‑keeping skills.
- Physically capable of handling the demands of maintenance work.
