SERVICE ELECTRICIAN
MCC is currently seeking a SERVICE ELECTRICIAN
. Individuals must have a service-oriented capability with an electrical background experience to run service calls in the greater Springfield area on commercial and industrial properties. A company vehicle with a gas card, tablet, cell phone, and most tools will be provided—ongoing training with the opportunity for advancement. The robust benefits package includes Health Insurance, Vision Insurance, Dental Insurance, 401K (matching), and Paid Time Off.
Compensation is $50,000-$70,000 per year based on experience with overtime after 8 hours, time and a half on Saturdays and double time Sundays. Please provide a resume for call-back interviews.

- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications
- Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing various types of conduit
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures
- Terminate wires to circuit breakers, transformers, devices, controls, and other components in accordance with schematics, prints, drawings, or instructions
- May operate hand and power tools of all types (including but not limited to air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments)
- May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris
- Cleans, maintains, and services equipment and tools
- Performs additional duties or emergency duties after normal working hours
- Hold a Journeyman license in the state you are currently working in
- Demonstrate a willingness to comprehend and follow instructions given by qualified electrical mentors
- Work efficiently to ensure assigned tasks meet deadlines
- Record field wiring changes and modifications on blueprints for recording on master circuit diagrams
- Follow and encourage others to follow OSHA, MCC, and site-specific safety procedures
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of these essential duties
- Work with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance of these essential duties
- Drive a vehicle to various job-sites throughout working hours
- Maintain valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company policy
- Work in a constant state of alertness
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performance
- Perform other duties as assigned
ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exposure to varying outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, varying fumes or odors; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work in ditches/excavations
- Work at heights, such as by working on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, tops of single and multi-story buildings, as well as working in confined spaces such as underneath single story and multi-story buildings
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100lbs
- Must be able to perform manual and repetitive tasks and body movements including standing and/or walking for long periods of time, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions continuously
- Must be able to work in overhead structures and around and beneath machinery
- Must be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and priorities
- Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time to perform duties in a safe manner
- This position is subject to ergonomic testing
This position is designated as a safety sensitive position because it includes as part of the job duties operating a motor vehicle, the operating, maintaining, and monitoring of heavy equipment and machinery, and working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces.
This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while operating a motor vehicle, operating, maintaining, and monitoring heavy equipment and machinery, and while working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces.
