Our team is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Glazier to join Binswanger Glass.

Job Summary

As a Senior Glazier, you will manage complex residential and commercial glazing projects, oversee a team, and ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation & Repair
    • Install, replace, and repair glass for windows, doors, mirrors, skylights, storefronts, and other commercial or residential structures.
    • Measure, cut, and finish glass to size for custom and standard applications.
    • Install both framed and unframed glass and mirrors, ensuring proper sealing, alignment, and finishing.
    • Perform precision glass cutting, sanding, and finishing with attention to detail.
  • Project Management & Leadership
    • Lead and manage a team of junior glaziers and apprentices.
    • Supervise, train, and mentor junior team members.
    • Coordinate schedules for residential and commercial projects to ensure timely completion.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical glazing issues.
    • Develop continuous‑improvement initiatives to increase productivity.
  • Customer Service and Communication
    • Communicate effectively with clients to understand glass needs and provide recommendations.
    • Provide accurate and timely estimates for installation, repair, or replacement services.
    • Address customer concerns to ensure high satisfaction.
    • Maintain professionalism while interacting with clients on job sites.
    • Use mobile technology to record and report work-related functions.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations when handling glass and operating tools.
    • Ensure all installations comply with local building codes and safety standards.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
    • Dispose of broken glass and materials safely.
  • Material Handling & Inventory
    • Handle, transport, and store glass materials efficiently to prevent damage.
    • Maintain inventory levels and inspect delivered materials for quality.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
    • Assess and resolve complex glazing issues such as structural integrity, design flaws, or weather-related damage.
    • Recommend and implement effective solutions for optimal performance and durability.
Experience
  • 5–7 years of professional glazing experience.
  • Strong background in residential and commercial glazing.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in field glazing.
  • In‑depth knowledge of glazing tools, materials, and techniques.
Skills
  • Advanced measuring, cutting, and installing of various glass types.
  • Proficient use of power tools, hand tools, and specialized glazing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and building codes.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients and contractors.
Education / Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or training in glazing preferred.
  • Certification (e.g., National Glass Association) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and best practices preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Work comfortably at heights, ladders, or scaffolding.
Working Environment
  • Perform work on residential and commercial job sites.
  • Outdoor and indoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Follow all safety protocols in construction zones.
