Job DescriptionAs a Driver, Shuttle you will transport empty trailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations and turn around to deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will drive a tandem trailer, tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery. You will communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co‑workers, function as a team member, and perform any duty assigned.
PositionResponsibilities
- Perform all required safety checks per DOT regulations, including pre/post‑trip inspections.
- Report all safety issues and required repairs.
- Follow DOT regulations, company safe driving guidelines, and policies.
- Inspect trailers for proper loading and securing of freight.
- Maintain route paperwork and ensure its availability upon dispatch.
- Drive and deliver trailers according to the predetermined route schedule.
- Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
- Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
- Secure and lock equipment and freight.
- Collect and secure damaged goods, customer returns, and complete necessary paperwork.
- Unload equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter logs per federal, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ months of commercial tractor/trailer experience.
- Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement and experience.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Clean MVR for the past 3 years.
- Pass road test.
- Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to hand‑lift and operate lifting equipment to move and stack product cases ranging from approximately 60 to 90 pounds.
Sunday – Thursday, dispatch between 10 pm and 12 midnight.
