Job OverviewSenior Continuous Improvement Engineer
Essential FunctionAccountable to the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement, facilitating waste‑eliminating initiatives impacting People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost across Manufacturing and Non‑Manufacturing areas. Build trust, break down silos, and create transparency through data. Coach teams on Lean/CI tools at Gemba and classroom, collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance to minimize scrap and downtime, and drive CI maturity across two sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead, guide and support formal and informal training sessions using Silfex Core Criteria
- Track key performance indicators (including CI Maturity), develop/implement corrective actions, and uphold accountability systems
- Support daily change management activities while providing appropriate coaching
- Embrace and support Silfex Mission, Guiding Principles, and Core Values
- Use analytical, statistical, and data‑driven approaches for mapping current‑state/future‑state opportunities within any business department
- Engage team members with a "I do, you do, we do" coaching style
- Build and develop teams to identify and reduce waste, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce costs (downtime, cycle times, etc.)
- Provide authentic positive reinforcement through daily catch‑ball exercises
- Communicate timely updates on ongoing initiatives, including Kaizen events, CI projects, and Wins of the Week
- Have the technical expertise to hit the ground running with Lean/CI tools, including multiple Kaizen event success stories
- Proactively identify the next Lean/CI opportunity
- Collaboratively manage work cells/value streams with technical leads, driving continuous quality and performance improvements
- Promote accountability and maintain self‑management using Leader Standard Work
- Balance managing multiple assignments with discernment for priority
- Display a positive attitude and strong work ethic reflecting the Mission and Core Values
- Create a safety‑first culture, model and follow safety policies, and report incidents immediately
- Communicate boldly and effectively with empathy and respect to inspire teamwork and collaboration
- Apply lean manufacturing concepts and 5S, maintain organization and cleanliness, and responsibly handle maintenance issues
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in engineering or production management, with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s degree
- Preferred Six Sigma Black Belt, AME Bronze, or equivalent Lean/Six Sigma experience
- In‑depth knowledge of factory processes, engineering support, production planning, and staffing
- Ability to lead change and establish operational metrics/key indicators for process control, communication, and performance improvement
- Ability to manage multiple projects, changing priorities, and work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and direct production personnel
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, regulations, and journals
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry
- Ability to define and solve technical problems
