Job Description

Provide support of EH&S standards and programs across the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the EH&S team in developing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving ACC Environmental Health and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist with workplace safety matters.
  • Perform environmental monitoring for facility discharges, storm‑water management, and other environmental permits.
  • Carry out routine industrial and hazardous waste management activities, including waste inventories, vendor scheduling, waste haul oversight, and manifest tracking and filing.
  • Conduct investigations and root‑cause analyses, recommending solutions.
  • Implement corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities as directed.
  • Assist in job hazard assessments by researching best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in EHS site audits, inspections, and routine surveys.
  • Help develop technical documents such as EHS procedures, programs, and guidance documents.
  • Communicate EHS procedures and work‑order status to personnel, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with others to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Assist in updating and coordinating EHS training programs.
  • Participate in EHS committee meetings.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, training, and seminars to gather information necessary for job functions.
  • Respond to emergency situations during or after normal business hours.
  • Follow all company safety policies and report unsafe conditions to the Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, or Director of Manufacturing.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Apply lean manufacturing concepts and 5S principles.
  • Perform tasks related to special projects or assignments.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by department management.
  • Work effectively with personnel at all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrate effective organizational and planning skills.
  • Perform independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain detail orientation and the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in EH&S or a related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of relevant EH&S experience.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes related to security and life safety equipment.
  • Knowledge of employee exposures and air, waste, and water compliance.
  • Ability to evaluate environmental health and safety risks.
  • Understanding of EHS policies and management systems, and the importance of compliance.
  • Knowledge of EHS risks, impacts, and benefits of performance improvement.
  • Proficiency in safe work behaviors and interpretation of EHS data.
  • Analytical skills to draw conclusions and recommend actions.
  • Common‑sense application of detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
