Design Engineer
Our client is seeking a Design Engineer to develop customized mechanical solutions that translate customer requirements into high-quality, manufacturable designs. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to deliver engineered products that balance performance, reliability, and customer value in a global environment. The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, and comfortable working across time zones and disciplines.
Location: This role is onsite in Springfield, Ohio.
Responsibilities- Design and engineer mechanical solutions by converting customer and application requirements into detailed calculations, models, and drawings.
- Develop and maintain CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and supporting design data to ensure accuracy and consistency across product configurations.
- Collaborate with sales, product, manufacturing, service, and customers to define requirements and ensure designs meet performance, cost, and delivery expectations.
- Evaluate designs for manufacturability, serviceability, and quality, incorporating feedback from production and field teams.
- Continuously improve design methods, tools, and standards to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall product quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of mechanical design experience, including welded steel structures, 3D CAD modeling, drafting, and BOM management.
- Proficiency with finite element analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS or equivalent) and the ability to apply simulation results to real-world designs.
- Experience with hydraulic systems design and troubleshooting, along with familiarity with industrial or mobile equipment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, globally distributed engineering environment.
Salary: $60K-$80K/year + Bonus (DOE)
