- Minimum one year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Valid ARRT or RCIS/RCES certification complying with state regulation
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Valid radiologic technologist license in the state of Ohio
- PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
- Other certifications or licenses as required for this position
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist assists physicians in performing minimally invasive procedures using advanced imaging technology. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, operating fluoroscopic and other imaging modalities, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Essential Work Functions- Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
- Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound
- Assist physicians by scrubbing in for sterile procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
- Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
- Ensure radiation safety for patients, staff, and self
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment
- Manage and restock procedural supplies
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members for seamless patient care
- Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
- Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient written and verbal English; ability to read and comprehend written instructions
- PC skills and ability to use department equipment (50–100 lbs) effectively
- Ability to remain stationary, move equipment, push, pull, bend, and work under close supervision or independently as required
- Capacity to cope with frequent contact with patients and meet deadlines under pressure
- Strong visual acuity and effective communication skills
