Job DescriptionThe Building Maintenance Worker position will perform the following duties:
- Assists in the proper upkeep and preventative maintenance of all buildings, materials and systems at the distribution plant/designated building.
- Tests emergency generator.
- Records data from main electrical panels.
- Inspects various equipment and building areas, including, but not limited to, air compressors, roof and roof‑mounted equipment, and sprinkler systems; records data from inspections.
- Tests sprinkler system’s water flow, tamper switches and sprinkler system alarms.
- Tests fire pump and alarm.
- Inspects all equipment and repairs or replaces as necessary to avoid downtime.
- Inspects, lubricates and cleans condensers and evaporators.
- Performs annual inspections on refrigeration compressors, including changing oil and filter, disassembling compressor for internal inspection, and aligning mechanical couplings.
- Inspects and lubricates freezer and cooler doors, performs needed repairs; maintains inventory of repair parts.
- Designs and constructs carpentry items requested by other departments.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Obtains work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepares for operations. Performs daily safety checks.
- Performs maintenance, repairs, and installations on various equipment within guidelines of processes and standards.
- Maintains, replaces, builds, adjusts, and modifies the facilities, buildings, and the grounds according to a set schedule and in emergency and non‑emergency situations.
- Performs general housekeeping duties and keeps maintenance area orderly and clean as required. At end of shift secures all equipment and completes all necessary reports and paperwork.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
- 6+ months of maintenance and repair or related area experience.
- Ability to pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
Hourly: $19.00
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – Finish
