Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented individual to support the delivery of an innovative and equity-focused residential energy efficiency program for our client’s customers based in Central Oregon.
About the roleOur income-qualified program delivers no-cost and low-cost energy efficiency upgrades, including insulation, air sealing, heating and cooling systems, duct work, and related health and safety repairs. We are adding a role to our Central Oregon team to lead outreach and connect eligible households with the program. The role starts with a focus on outreach: strengthening relationships with the agencies, organizations, and local institutions that serve income-qualified households, and turning those relationships into program referrals.
You will develop and lead the outreach strategy for the region. As referral volume grows, you will take on in-home energy assessments, and over time the role settles at approximately 60% assessments and 40% outreach. We are looking for someone with established ties to the community, a talent for building relationships, along with the technical aptitude to assess a home.
you'll do
- Outreach and referral development (the focus at the start; about 40% long term)
- Develop and maintain working relationships with social service providers, housing providers, municipalities, schools, and other local organizations that serve income-qualified households
- Develop and carry out the strategy for generating referrals in Central Oregon, and track results
- Represent the program at community events, workshops, and partner meetings, including some evenings and weekends
- Contribute to the marketing plan for the region
- Reach underserved communities in the places where they already get information
- Report outreach activity, referral sources, and results to program management
- Home energy assessments (added as referral volume grows; about 60% long term)
- Conduct in-home energy assessments in occupied homes: building envelope, insulation, HVAC, and diagnostic testing
- Document existing conditions and write Home Energy Assessment reports with recommended upgrades
- Determine program eligibility and explain findings, scope, and next steps to homeowners in plain language
- Hand each project off to the program team with complete, accurate documentation
- 3+ years in a community-facing or in-home role (outreach, partnership development, sales, home performance, weatherization, home inspection, construction, or similar), including demonstrated outreach or lead generation results you can describe
- Strong written and verbal English. The Home Energy Assessment report will be a core deliverable of this role and must be clear and accurate
- Ability to explain technical information to homeowners in plain language
- Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and unconditioned spaces
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle. Expect regular driving across Central Oregon
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role
- Must live in Central Oregon, in Crook, Deschutes, or Jefferson counties
- Strongly preferred Existing relationships with Central Oregon agencies, nonprofits, or other organizations serving low-income households
- Working knowledge of residential building systems, HVAC, and energy efficiency measures
- BPI Building Analyst Technician certification (not required to apply; see below)
- Spanish fluency
- Experience with utility-funded, weatherization, or other income-qualified programs
