Commercial Relationship Manager / Business Development Banker
Location: Eugene–Springfield / Southern Willamette Valley, Oregon
Opportunity Overview
An established Oregon community financial institution is selectively adding an experienced commercial banking professional to help expand its presence in the Eugene–Springfield market.
This is a business-development-driven opportunity for a banker who enjoys being in the community, building relationships, generating opportunities, and bringing new business into the bank.
The local office already has strong credit, underwriting, operational, and deposit capabilities. The organization is looking for a relationship-oriented producer who complements those strengths and helps create a complete commercial banking team.
Rather than asking one banker to do everything, the model is collaborative:
the successful candidate can focus heavily on developing relationships while partnering with experienced internal resources to structure, underwrite, execute, and service those opportunities.
What Makes This Opportunity Different
- Significant white space for commercial growth.
- Opportunity to help build a market rather than simply manage an established portfolio.
- Strong internal credit and underwriting partnership.
- Experienced operational and deposit support.
- High-touch, relationship-oriented community banking model.
- Ability to work directly with clients and develop individualized banking solutions.
- Broad commercial focus rather than a narrow product specialization.
- Meaningful visibility and influence within the organization.
- Opportunity to bring ideas and relationships into an office positioned for growth.
- Potential for responsibilities and leadership opportunities to evolve as the market grows.
Responsibilities
- Proactively develop new commercial banking relationships throughout the market.
- Spend meaningful time in the community meeting business owners, prospects, and referral sources.
- Develop relationships with CPAs, attorneys, advisors, and other centers of influence.
- Generate commercial loan, deposit, and broader banking opportunities.
- Expand relationships with existing customers.
- Partner with internal credit resources to structure and underwrite commercial opportunities.
- Understand client objectives and coordinate appropriate banking solutions.
- Build complete operating relationships rather than focusing exclusively on individual transactions.
- Represent the institution through community, networking, and business-development activities.
- Help increase the institution's commercial visibility throughout the market.
- Contribute to the long-term development of the local commercial banking franchise.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Established commercial banking, business banking, or small-business banking experience.
- Demonstrated history of developing new client relationships.
- Strong business-development orientation.
- Existing network within the local or broader regional business community strongly preferred.
- Commercial credit knowledge sufficient to identify and communicate quality opportunities.
- Comfortable partnering with experienced underwriting resources rather than needing to personally perform every aspect of the credit process.
- Experience working with a diverse commercial client base.
- Understanding of both credit and deposit relationships.
- Strong networking and COI-development skills.
- High-touch approach to customer service.
- Collaborative and team-oriented personality.
- Entrepreneurial mentality and enthusiasm for helping grow a market.
Candidates currently working within larger institutions are encouraged to explore the opportunity, particularly those who want greater visibility, collaboration, and ability to develop personalized client relationships.
