Job Description
Peace Health is seeking an Electrodiagnostics Technician (Treadmill) – Exercise Test Lab for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at Peace Health is $24.60 – $38.42. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Assists the physician and/or nurse in performing exercise stress testing on the patient.
Essential Functions
- Assist the physician and/or nurse with stress testing.
- Perform scanning and analysis of ambulatory rhythm monitors.
- Process transtelephonic event‑recording data.
- Interpret and edit EKG data. Report test results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma preferred, or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year preferred in a similar position.
- Required:
Successful completion of arrhythmia identification program or ability to pass an EKG rhythm identification test before the date of hire. - Preferred:
Background in cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and electrophysiology. - Minimum of one‑year recent treadmill testing experience preferred.
Credentials
- Required:
Basic Life Support. - Preferred:
Certified Cardiographic Technician.
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (required).
Working Conditions
Lifting
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
- Frequent reaching / bending / squatting / kneeling / grasping.
- Lift / carry:
Frequently up to 15 lbs. Occasionally up to 20 lbs. - Push / pull:
Frequently up to 20 lbs. force. Occasional up to 30 lbs. force.
Environmental Conditions
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles.
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Time spent on site in a medical/hospital setting.
Mental / Visual
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
