RN – Operating Room at Peace Health
Peace Health is hiring a RN – Operating Room for a Full Time, 1.0 FTE, Day position. The hours are 0645‑1715. Hourly compensation is $49.30‑77.46, with rates dependent on qualifications, experience, location and Collective Bargaining Agreement terms.
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement and may have multiple openings.

Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
- Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials and demonstrated competence.
- Ensure own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of hospital policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention programs.
- Work in another nursing unit at Sacred Heart Medical Center UD and River Bend provided that necessary Care Connect training, unit‑specific competencies and competency approval are completed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an approved nursing school.
- BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program preferred.
- Specialty certification preferred.
- One (1) year RN perioperative (operating room) circulating experience in an acute care setting required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice at date of hire.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
- ACLS certification may be required.
- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family‑centered work environment.
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (e.g., medical carts). - Perform hands‑on CPR at least 20 minutes using 100‑125 lbs. of force; frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
- Bending / stooping / squatting / reaching / kneeling frequently.
- Lifting (non‑patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
