Consider coming on board as an Insulation Installer at Marshall’s Specialty Services. We’re a well-respected HVAC company serving Lane County, OR since 1948. Marshall’s cares about its customers, employees, and quality of work. We are looking for a Lead Fiberglass Insulation Installer to join our expanding Insulation Department.
The Lead Fiberglass Insulation Installer position is physically intense. You will work in confined spaces like attics and crawl spaces, and in extreme weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold. Can work on jobsites alone that are not under the floor or in an attic.
Pay Range: $22 - 25 (at supervisor's discretion)
Reports to: Insulation Field Supervisors
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full‑time position. The work schedule begins at 7:30 a.m., Monday – Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Qualifications / Experience- Minimum of 1-2 years residential install experience
- Must pass drug and background screens
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Basic ability to read and understand blueprints, take‑off sheets, and bids
- Ability to properly install and remove floor, wall, and attic insulation
- Knowledgeable and able to install roof jacks
- Demonstrated knowledge of operating blow trucks and their accompanying equipment
- Master of all concepts around fiberglass and rigid and its installation
- Complete installation of standard ductwork
- Ability to operate all machinery
- Basics of operating the forklift
- Ability to properly blow a wall
- Possess the required installer tool set
- Cross‑trained in HVAC and SRV as a helper
- Able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
- Possess the tools necessary to perform work at Install Level 3
- Ability to work with tools used in the job in a safe manner
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to the ⅛”
- Must be able to perform all duties of a Level 1 – 2 Installer
- Maintains a professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Maintains required levels of truck stock items
- Properly use safety equipment daily, including gloves, back brace, lifting harness, safety glasses, and continual observation of surroundings and team members
- Keep the vehicle interior free of trash, debris, and unused food and drink; sweep for excess dirt
- Complete weekly vehicle inspection report
- Operate the company vehicle following all safety standards and applicable laws
- Follow instructions from the supervisor in a timely manner
- Immediately report any problems with company tools or vehicles to the office
- Work well with customers, co‑workers and other subcontractors
- Properly prepare the job site using drop cloths, moving furniture or obstructions, and prepare surface areas using floor protectors
- Clean job site and leave in a condition better or equivalent to when arrived
- Full understanding of residential code as it pertains to insulation installs
- Understanding R‑Value and differences between framing depths and O.C.
- Properly remove and replace all insulation and support systems in floors
- Properly insulated pipes and ductwork to meet utility company specifications for rebates
- Properly complete WVP phases (be capable of installing alone)
- Understanding of code and utility company requirements to successfully complete job
- Properly install venting
- Properly install ductwork
- Blow attics and walls
- Use and perform workflow processes on service software through mobile device
- Complete necessary documentation (notes, photos, forms, time tracking, etc.) to support invoices, estimates, orders, inventory, and other information provided to customers, coworkers and supervisors as needed
- Proficient in installing standard ductwork
- Proficient in all fiberglass and rigid installation and removal
- Must be able to communicate ideas to supervisors and homeowners/contractors
- Can work on standard WVP unassisted and unsupervised
