Position
CT Technologist – Full Time – No Weekends – No Call
Location:
Tri Star North Crest Medical Center, Springfield, TN
Hours:
Monday – Friday 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (No Call Required)
The CT Technologist performs a variety of imaging procedures ordered by physicians. CT Technologists are responsible for day‑to‑day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a diagnostic/therapeutic environment.
What You Will Do In This Role- Perform all requested computed tomography examinations as ordered by the attending physician on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site Radiologist.
- Use computerized tomography scanners to create a cross‑section of patients’ masses and internal organs for medical analysis.
- Ensure the safe and effective operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintain patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the table and during the exam.
- Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering any/all questions about any aspect of their care.
- Complete and sign Patient Screening form and explain the procedure to the patient.
- Administer contrast agents according to site‑specific protocols when applicable, under the guidance and approval of the site Radiologist.
- Monitor patient during contrast administration and throughout the entire examination.
- Minimize radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
- Maintain production and quality of exams and document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Address problems of patient care as they arise and make decisions to appropriately resolve the problems.
- Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality adhering to all HIPAA privacy regulations in accordance with hospital’s policies and procedures.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols, following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs (such as contrast media), administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Cooperate with all facility healthcare professionals and comply with facility policies/procedures, including all safety policies and regulations.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Computed Technology protocols and be competent in the operation of Med Rad injections. Provide images to the facility in the desired site format.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related responsibilities as needed and performing all other duties as assigned.
- Current registration ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
- Current BLS certification (or obtained 30 days from hire).
- Computer Tomography certification preferred (or acquired within 6 months).
- 2 years post‑graduate related experience (1‑3 years minimum CT experience strongly preferred).
- Must be a graduate of an accredited 24‑month Radiological Technology Program.
- Continuing education credits (CE’s) for licensure, if applicable.
