Job Summary and Qualifications

The Security Guard provides a highly visible uniformed law enforcement presence at the North Crest Medical Center facilities, focusing on the emergency department to deter and prevent criminal behavior and ensure the safety of patients, staff, physicians, visitors, and property.

Responsibilities
  • Use equipment related to the profession to protect employees, patients, visitors, or self.
  • Follow the required dress code throughout the shift, wearing the designated patrol uniform and gear.
  • Remain accessible to hospital personnel at all times while on duty, using a two‑way radio provided by Parkridge Health System.
  • Work flexibly at a fast pace and manage multiple projects simultaneously; accurately document all perceived security threats and submit a Shift Activity Report before shift end.
  • Collaborate frequently with other departments and healthcare professionals.
  • Assist unarmed security personnel with managing, controlling, and observing responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Security Officer (SO) or Armed Security Officer (SO‑ARMED) certification within 90 days of employment start date.
