Small Group Counselors work with our youngest campers (ages 4–6) and with campers who may need extra supervision, support, or behavioral guidance. These counselors must demonstrate patience, calm leadership, and strong communication skills. A background in childcare, early childhood education, special needs support, or behavioral health is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise small groups requiring closer attention and individualized support
- Lead age-appropriate activities, games, and movement sessions
- Provide patient, nurturing guidance throughout the day
- Assist with emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and positive behavior reinforcement
- Maintain high safety standards in all activities and transitions
- Communicate regularly with camp leads about camper needs or concerns
- Help younger or high-support campers navigate new experiences confidently
- Support group routines such as snacks, hydration, rest breaks, and bathroom transitions
- Ensure a calm, positive, and supportive environment
- Experience in childcare, early childhood education, behavioral health, or related fields
- Strong patience, empathy, and attentiveness
- Prior work with young children or special populations preferred
- Ability to manage small groups with care, consistency, and clear communication
