Position Overview

Kiewit Building Group is looking for a Quality Construction Manager who will be responsible for the successful development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan and procedures. You will manage and educate project personnel to ensure standards outlined in the Project Quality Plan are met. The role is responsible for the successful implementation of field quality inspection and testing plans, procedures and documentation.

Kiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail, and special-use facilities. Contracting models include firm fixed price, RSMeans based Coefficients, CMGC, design‑build, progressive design build, and IPD.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and maintain effective communications and relations with district management, project management teams, authorized inspectors, and engineers or clients as required.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor and supervise district and project quality control inspectors.
  • Coordinate quality control staffing needs on projects and assign qualified personnel.
  • Work with other districts as needed to share resources.
  • Assist project teams in setting up the quality department and preparing for project kick‑off and pre‑job planning meetings. Assist in identifying the proper Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s), checklists, and other documentation for the project.
  • Support project teams in the development and implementation of project quality plans and supplemental procedures as needed.
  • Facilitate resolution of issues by working with Project Quality Managers and Project Managers.
  • Monitor and report district quality incidents.
  • Oversee code compliance for work.
  • Liaison between authorized inspection agency and jurisdictional authorities. Assist in acquiring authorized inspection services for the projects.
  • Research and answer technical questions; assist in interpreting construction codes and standards.
Qualifications
  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
  • At least 10 years’ experience developing and implementing construction quality management programs in the infrastructure industry.
  • Certified Construction Quality Management (CQM) is required.
  • Experience working on NAVFAC, Army Corps of Engineers, or other government construction projects is required.
  • Exceptional math, computer, verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Base Compensation: $150,000/yr – $157,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
