The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a Senior Editor, Editorial (Bilingual) to oversee the development of high-quality long-form and short-form written content for digital platforms, including magazine-style pieces that provide narrative depth and analytical insight. The role commissions and edits submissions from regional contributors, shapes editorial direction, and ensures MBN’s feature output meets the highest journalistic standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following tasks are considered essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions:

• Edit and curate long-form features, essays, special reports, and short-form content in all its forms in both English and Arabic.
• Commission and manage trusted regional writers and subject-matter experts.
• Support internal feature projects and editorial initiatives in collaboration with other senior editors.
• Ensure all content meets MBN’s editorial, linguistic, and ethical standards.
• Provide developmental editing, fact-checking, writing support, and narrative refinement to elevate overall quality.
• Collaborate with design and digital teams on presentation and layout.
• Contribute to editorial planning and thematic coverage strategy.
• Support the development, launch, and management of new MBN content products — including newsletters, data indexes, and similar initiatives — and apply technical knowledge of Word Press or comparable tools, with a willingness to learn new applications to enhance content distribution.

Other Duties:

Perform additional job-related duties and take on new responsibilities as needed based on organizational requirements and circumstances.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Candidates are required to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, literature, or communications.
• Minimum 7 years of editorial experience, including long-form or magazine editing.
• Native or near-native fluency in Arabic and English.
• Strong editing, rewriting, and story development skills.
• Proven ability to manage contributors and coordinate cross-functional editorial workflows.
• Deep understanding of Middle Eastern affairs and global current events.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under stress with accuracy and balance.
• Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment.
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in journalism, international affairs, or related field.
• Experience commissioning and editing narrative journalism.
• Familiarity with digital publishing platforms and editorial content management systems.
