We are seeking an O&M Network Specialist to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. The role designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers.
Responsibilities- Develop and support customer solutions, technical strategies and objectives throughout the typical IT project lifecycle.
- Refine requirements, develop and revise design documentation, produce installation instructions and deployment plans, and provide O&M support for the network.
- Assist in delivering technical presentations to customer staff in both technical and non‑technical roles.
- Contribute to implementation by designing and developing configuration for an expanding enterprise; prepare and perform surveys and assessments of the customer's existing network systems.
- Participate in infrastructure design and deployment activities; directly involved in hands‑on implementation of customer network systems and develop documentation throughout the entire lifecycle.
Work is 100% on‑site; no remote or teleworking is anticipated.
Candidate Duties, Responsibilities & Skill Sets- Detail oriented with excellent written and verbatim communication skills, able to present complex technical concepts to non‑technical team members.
- Rapid learning of new technologies and ability to develop and follow processes and standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrated performance in network engineering technology; expertise in network device configuration, CLI navigation, patch deployment, and configuration changes.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot and identify issues at all layers of the network.
- Expertise with WAN/Transport and IP routing technologies and protocols, including BGP, MPLS, and SD‑WAN.
- Expertise in cloud orchestration and management of network devices.
- Experience with cloud network technologies such as Express Route and Azure Virtual Networks; understanding of interaction with on‑prem and network virtual appliances.
- Working knowledge of WAN technology and various communication circuits.
- Experience deploying LAN (cable plant, connection medium, connector types) and understanding their capabilities, limitations, and work‑arounds.
- Understanding of DoD network security policies and ability to implement them across the enterprise.
- Experience working in a multi‑enclave environment.
- Understanding of network traffic management and experience developing effective network optimization solutions.
- Juniper/HPE/JUNOS and/or Palo Alto experience is a plus.
- Top Secret with SCI eligibility required; applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and may need U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline with 7+ years applicable experience OR
- AAS degree in an Engineering Field or related discipline with 10+ years applicable experience OR
- HS diploma with 12+ years applicable experience.
- Strong communication skills and experience using ticketing.
- DoD Manual 8140 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification Certification for Intermediate level Network Operations Specialist (DCWF Code 441).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for international travel.
