Program Description

The FALSTAFF contract has just begun its 2nd year of a 7‑year contract. The program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) and SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an IC customer with a focus on assured space communications and supporting IT infrastructure. This is primarily broken into three major support functions: systems engineering, capability acquisition, and mission operations. Systems engineering support focuses on the end‑to‑end processes for managing programs, including readiness, configuration management, integrated master schedule, systems analysis, future studies and innovations.

Acquisition support is focused on helping government COTRs in all aspects of managing development contracts to deliver new or upgraded capabilities that meet requirements. Mission operations involves supporting the customer staff charged with leading the 24x7 daily operations, managing the integration of new capabilities into operations, and facilitating anomaly response teams when issues arise.

Specific Opportunity Description

This position is for the Mission Operations Team Lead role and is responsible for leading FALSTAFF's technical support to the customer's mission operations staff. The role will lead a dedicated team of SETA staff focused on all aspects of operations including supporting normal day‑to‑day activities and ongoing projects, bringing in new capabilities and successfully integrating them into operations, and facilitating response to anomalous activities and return to operations—everything in between.

Other duties will include:

  • Primary interface between FALSTAFF team and other development contracts supporting the mission.
  • Maintain awareness of user needs, conops and requirements.

  • Provide draft recommendation briefings on any number of topics in support of the customer.
  • Create and/or provide input to the weekly activity report.
  • Provide SME level training to new personnel.
  • Support customer team in any contract management tasks.
  • Guide team members through all parts of the systems engineering “vee” with a focus on Con Ops development in the beginning and integration, testing, transition to operations, and operations support.
