Springfield, VA (Onsite). This is not a remote or hybrid position.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of electro‑mechanical equipment. The role involves working directly with the design team and manufacturing vendor, designing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving challenges related to product development. Responsibilities include root‑cause analysis, collaboration with suppliers and in‑house support personnel, and design improvements from concept to production. The engineer will also maintain and update drawings, Bills of Materials, and provide test support.

This position is onsite at our Springfield, VA office.

• Design systems and integrate multiple systems using Solid Works from initial concept stage through production launch.
• Generate and provide analysis of FEA studies in Solid Works.
• Generate and analyze drawings from parts/assemblies in compliance with ASME 14.100 and MIL‑STD‑31000.
• Assist in production problem‑solving by interfacing with the manufacturing team to find creative solutions.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members and represent the company with customers and suppliers.

• Education:
  
  4‑year Mechanical Engineering degree with 10+ years of hands‑on experience, OR
• Education:
  
  2‑year technical college degree/military experience with 15+ years of mechanical and design/drawing experience.

• Experience designing mechanical systems and power generation and distribution systems.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), problem solving, technical documentation/communication.
• Solid Works and 2D CAD and mechanical design experience are mandatory for this position; everything else is negotiable.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem‑solving abilities.
• Must be eligible to receive U.S. Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
