SOC Engineer Tier 2

Join AIS (Applied Information Sciences) as a SOC Engineer Tier 2 to protect our clients’ Azure and M365 environments. As a key member of the Security Operations Center, you’ll use cutting‑edge cloud technologies to detect, investigate, and resolve security incidents.

• Review environment scoping and inventory to understand applications and technical solutions.
• Lead SIEM configuration, maintenance, and alerting for Azure and M365 platforms.
• Create and refine reporting templates, ensuring regular cadence and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops to ensure systems are current and secure.
• Document security requirements, procedures, and protocols for internal teams.
• Act as a point of escalation for complex security issues and complex operational incidents.

• 6+ years of security engineering experience on M365 and Azure.
• Security+ certification required;
  CySA+ certification required within 6 months.
• Experience with Azure Sentinel, Azure Defender Suite, and related SOC tools.
• Strong analytical skills and experience handling daily alerts and incidents.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to clients and vendors.

Springfield, VA. This is a weekend/holiday shift position; availability for Saturday & Sunday 8:00PM-8:00AM and occasional weekday and holiday shifts is required.

TS/SCI with CI Polygraph is required.

Target base salary range $138,000-$209,000 per year. Final offer will be based on qualifications, experience, and location.
