Data Migration & ETL Engineer w​/Top Secret Clearance

A3 Consulting, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Data Migration & ETL Engineer to execute a critical phase of a major DoD Insider Threat program. This position will be the hands‑on expert responsible for the analysis, mapping, and migration of vital data from a legacy system into a new, custom‑built application on the Service Now Public Sector Digital Services (PSDS) platform.

• Design, develop, and execute the end‑to‑end ETL process for migrating large datasets from a Postgre
  
  SQL‑based legacy system into the Service Now platform.
• Create detailed source‑to‑target data mapping documents, defining the transformation logic required to align legacy data with the new Service Now application’s data model.
• Build and manage robust data loading solutions in Service Now, leveraging Import Sets, Transform Maps, and advanced scripting to ensure efficient and accurate data ingestion.
• Perform in‑depth analysis of the source data to identify potential quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies prior to migration.
• Implement rigorous data validation and reconciliation procedures to ensure data integrity and completeness between the source and target systems.
• Develop and execute scripts to cleanse and transform data, ensuring it conforms to the business rules and requirements of the new application.
• Develop processes to extract data from various sources, including direct database queries and external system APIs (REST/SOAP) for ongoing data integration needs.
• Write Python scripts to automate extraction, transformation, and data quality checks, improving the efficiency and reliability of the migration process.
• Collaborate with the Development Team to understand API endpoints and data structures for both legacy and future data integrations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in a data engineering, ETL, or data migration role.
• Direct, hands‑on experience with large‑scale data migration into the Service Now platform, including deep knowledge of Import Sets, Transform Maps, and the Service Now data model.
• Proven experience working with Service Now Public Sector Digital Services (PSDS).
• Expert‑level proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries for data extraction and analysis.
• Proven experience extracting data from relational databases (especially Postgre
  
  SQL).
• Strong scripting skills, particularly in Python, for data manipulation and automation.

• Experience using Service Now Integration Hub for ETL processes.
• Familiarity with DoD data standards and policies.
• Knowledge of federal records management requirements (NARA).
• Experience migrating data for case management or analytical systems.

• The salary range of this position is $160,000 – $180,000 commensurate with experience and achievement.
